How can I make the speedo brighter?

One really neat tip to increase the brightbness of the famously dim speedo light: remove the speedometer from the bike. Pull the speedo light housing out. Use a small screwdriver to push backward on the metal shield in the speedometer that prevents light going to the dial. You can easily bend this shield back about 1/4 inch thus letting in much more light.
