Turn the fuel valve so the handle is pointing up for reserve.

Down is ON, horizontal is OFF.

Note:
With the fuel valve set to ON (or RES), fuel flows to the carburetors only when the engine is being started or is running. A diaphram shuts off fuel flow when the engine is off.
