Adjusting the air fuel mixture screws for the Sabre will help with a decrease in popping and backfiring during deceleration.

  • You will need to drill out the caps CAREFULLY as not to damage the threads or set screw behind the cover. The easiest way is to run a small hole into the cap, screw a screw into the cap and pull it out. If you do this, you will need a 1/4" plug to put in the hole after adjustment so the screw doesn't back out and disappear.
  • An alternate way to do this is to drill a hole large enough to fit a small jeweler or precision screwdriver. This will leave the lip of the cap so you do not need a cap. The set screw will not be able to back out and become lost.
  • Once you drill out access to the set screw, gently screw the set screw in until it lightly seats.
  • At this point, you may want to mark the position of the screw or take a mental note.
  • Back out the screw 3.25 to 3.5 turns. 3.5 works for many people
  • There are two set screws on the sabre, one on each side
